Goal:
This continuing education activity will help pharmacists and pharmacy technicians optimize care for patients with sunburn. They will understand the risks of overexposure to ultraviolet rays, how to prevent sunburn, and how to treat it.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• DESCRIBE how a sunburn develops and its consequences
• DISCUSS sunburn prevention and common misconceptions
• IDENTIFY available sunscreens and how to use them safely and effectively
• EXPLAIN the correct way to treat a sunburn
