Description:
This course provides an advanced overview of Respiratory Infections in the Long Term Care Setting. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: identify some unique factors that may lead to the prevalence of respiratory infections in long-term care facilities; describe the basic anatomy of the respiratory system; describe common diseases of the respiratory tract and predispose for respiratory infections; recognize common signs and symptoms of respiratory infections in long term care settings; recognize common types of respiratory infections in the long term care setting; identify consequences specific to respiratory infections to residents, healthcare workers, and society in general; and list some resources and tools to prevent the spread of respiratory infections in long term care facilities.
