Goal:
To provide an annual review of pharmacotherapy of respiratory disorders common in the ambulatory setting, specifically chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder and asthma.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• DESCRIBE the initial assessments of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma
• EVALUATE pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic management options for the long-term management of COPD and asthma
• RECOGNIZE acute exacerbations of COPD and asthma and recommend therapies for their treatment
• APPLY the learned information about COPD and asthma to patient cases
