MRI, PET & the Quantum Paradigm: Implications for the Future of Brain Imaging Research
MRI, PET & the Quantum Paradigm: Implications for the Future of Brain Imaging Research is organized by International Center for Postgraduate Medical Education (ICPME) and will be held from Mar 21, 2018 - Mar 31, 2024.
Description:
A lecture about the quantum physics behind PET and MRI imaging including an explanation about how PET, MRI, and MEG are being used to gain a better understanding of both normal and aberrant brain functioning. Also how these technologies are important for the Obama Administrations Brain Research Initiative.
Educational Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Discuss the basics of the quantum paradigm and how it helps us to better understand the operations of MRI & PET technologies.
• Discuss how PET & MRI brain scans are helping us to gain a better understand of both normal and aberrant brain functioning.
• Talk about the Human Connectome Project and why MRI DTI is important for this project.
• Discuss the important implications of the Human Connectome Project for brain imaging research and future outcomes of the project.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
