Overview:
Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) is a tool used by hospitalists across the nation to answer specific diagnostic questions and to guide performance and safety of invasive bedside procedures. This OhioHealth sponsored POCUS course is designed to teach the basics of bedside cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, and vascular ultrasonography.
Objectives:
• Recognize the clinical indications, utility and limitations for bedside POCUS.
• Discuss the basics of US physics & knobology.
• Identify appropriate probe usage for clinical indications.
• Describe & demonstrate bedside evaluation for DVT of the LE.
