Course Description:
PENNSYLVANIA ACT 31 Mandated Training on Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Requirement. 3-contact-hour training course for INITIAL LICENSE APPLICATION for all mandated reporters. Approved by the PA Department of Human Services, with daily electronic reporting to the Pennsylvania Department of State (DOS).
Learning Outcome and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be better prepared to recognize and report child abuse, child maltreatment, and child neglect. Specific learning objectives include:
• Describe the goal of the child welfare system in Pennsylvania.
• Differentiate between Child Protective Services and General Protective Services responses to reports of possible abuse or neglect.
• Define the categories of child abuse and exclusions.
• Recognize indicators of child abuse and trafficking.
• Summarize responsibilities for reporting suspected child abuse.
• Identify the protections for reporters and penalties for failure to report.
