Course Description:
PENNSYLVANIA ACT 31 Mandated Training on Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Requirement. 2-contact-hour training course for LICENSE RENEWAL for all mandated reporters. Approved by the PA Department of Human Services, with 24-hour electronic reporting to the Pennsylvania Department of State (DOS).
Learning Outcome and Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be better prepared to recognize and report child abuse, child maltreatment, and child neglect. Specific learning objectives include:
• Describe the goal of the child welfare system in Pennsylvania.
• Differentiate between Child Protective Services and General Protective Services responses to reports of possible abuse or neglect.
• Define the categories of child abuse and exclusions.
• Recognize indicators of child abuse and trafficking.
• Summarize responsibilities for reporting suspected child abuse.
• Identify the protections for reporters and penalties for failure to report.
