Activity Description
Despite long-held assumptions, osteoporotic fracture is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in men as it is in women. We will review the most recent evidence supporting the diagnostic and therapeutic management of osteoporosis in men.

Learning Objectives

• Recognize that osteoporosis is common in men and overall mortality after hip fracture is high.
• Be able to devise appropriate evaluations of men with fractures and/or low bone density.
• Guide osteoporosis management in men based on severity of fracture risk.
