Overview:
Stress is a normal part of life, but for many, it can lead to crippling anxiety. By learning the neurobiology behind the stress response and its function, people are often better able to manage stress and anxiety.
Sherrie All, Ph.D. a neuropsychologist, leader in the field of brain health, and author of the forthcoming book The Neuroscience of Memory: Seven Skills to Optimize Brain Power, Improve Memory and Stay Sharp at Any Age, will teach you the neuroscience of stress so you can help your patients master stress and improve daily function.
Objectives:
• Identify the basic brain and body structures involved in the stress response.
• Describe the role of neuroplasticity in increasing stress and anxiety.
• Describe at least 3 strategies for quieting the nervous system to treat anxiety.
