Goal:
This activity will explore the risks versus benefits of preventive interventions such as cancer screening, treatment of asymptomatic chronic conditions, immunizations, and counseling on behaviors to maintain health in the older adult population.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• Discuss the framework used for individualizing preventive measures in the elderly population
• Recognize the risks and benefits of cancer screening in older adults
• Specify the recommendations for treating asymptomatic chronic conditions in older adults
• Identify the vaccinations that are recommended for adults aged 65 years and older
