Recent Advances in the Prevention and Management of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Infection in Transplant Recipients: Managed Care Considerations for Improved Outcomes is organized by National Association of Managed Care Physicians (NAMCP) and will be held from Sep 01, 2021 - Sep 01, 2023.,,Description:,Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection remains a frequent complication in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and solid organ transplantation (SOT) recipients. Novel antiviral therapies with different mechanisms of action have recently become available giving healthcare professionals new options in the management of this infection. This program will take a look at those advances and provide up to date strategies for the management of CMV infection.,,This webinar series on the evolving role of novel therapies in CMV infection management will take a close look at recent guideline updates, clinical data, and strategies for the prevention and management of CMV.,,Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:,• Summarize the economic burden of cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease and challenges associated with its management,• Analyze unmet needs associated with historical strategies to prevent CMV disease in transplant recipients,• Examine recent guideline updates and expert recommendations around the management of CMV in transplant patients,• Discuss the managed care professional’s role in the treatment and prevention of infection from CMV
