Course Description:
This recorded presentation seeks to give pediatric primary care providers knowledge and information about how children are exposed to lead, the health effects of lead, recommendations for detecting lead exposure, and how to manage the lead-exposed child. The overall goal is to improve provider awareness of lead as a continued public health issue and their role in identifying and management of lead exposed children.
Objectives:
• Identify key sources of lead exposure.
• List the major targets of lead toxicity in children.
• Discuss current lead screening recommendations for all children.
