Description:
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the world to face a new normal. Delivery of health care has been significantly impacted, including a review of personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectants that were used in dental settings before the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 respiratory pathogen. A portion of the session also will be devoted to a discussion of updated infection control recommendations for dental practices. These include health agency (e.g., CDC, NIOSH, OSHA) recommendations and regulations pertaining to standard precautions, PPE, air quality requirements in treatment areas, and environmental surface disinfection in light of recent science-based evidence.
