Our goal:
The overall objective of this activity is to guide you through the process of self-evaluation using evidence-based clinical quality measures. Once practices are implemented as an everyday clinical function, it is expected that you will have achieved performance change in your practice setting.
Educational objectives of this activity:
At the conclusion of this activity, clinicians will be able to:
• Identify evidence-based screening tools for unhealthy alcohol use.
• Define patients’ hazardous alcohol use according to current guidelines.
• Identify evidence-based first- and second-line medications for alcohol use disorder and compare their advantages and disadvantages.
• Identify evidence-based psychosocial treatments for alcohol use disorder.
• Explore the utility and limitations of available biomarkers of alcohol consumption.
