Overview:
Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) is a tool used by hospitalists across the nation to answer specific diagnostic questions and to guide performance and safety of invasive bedside procedures. This OhioHealth sponsored POCUS course is designed to teach the basics of bedside cardiac, pulmonary, abdominal, and vascular ultrasonography.
Objectives:
• Describe the indications and limitations of emergency echocardiography.
• Perform standard echocardiography windows (subcostal, parasternal, and apical) and planes (four chamber, long and short axis).
