Guiding Clients From Disordered to Balanced Eating

Guiding Clients From Disordered to Balanced Eating is organized by Dietitian Central.
Live Event Date: Feb 18, 2021
Expiration Date: Feb 18, 2024
Overview:
Disordered eating clients have a wide variety of struggles with eating well. These clients are not able to discern the body's cues or eat to support the needs of their bodies. Many terms have been used to define what "normal" eating is: intuitive, mindful, healthy, balanced, autonomous, and competent. How do we as dietitians help counsel a client from disordered eating toward more well-balanced eating? When is a structured or guided eating plan appropriate? This webinar will discuss the step-by-step process of providing nutrition counseling to guide a client toward balanced eating. The appropriateness of eating plans, challenges, exposures, and food logging will be included. Practice resources will be provided, and case study examples will be used to apply the knowledge presented.
Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
• Define and understand the long-term goal of balanced eating.
• Define step-by-step goals from disordered to balanced eating.
• Assess a client's current eating ability level and personal goals.
• Develop structured eating plans that provide support to various levels of disordered eating.
• Apply learned principles to case study examples
