What is the overview of the Foundations of Writing for School-Age Children and Adolescents CME webinar?
Course Description:
This webinar will address the core elements of the writing process to inform SLPs’ work with school-age children and adolescents with and without developmental language disorders. The speaker will emphasize theoretical frameworks and popular research that speak to the recovery and enhancement of cognitive, linguistic, and motor skills that are required for writing. This is an associate webinar to the “Fundamentals of Assessing Writing Samples” webinar.

Course Objectives:
You will be able to:
• Explain writing process frameworks and address developmental anomalies in the writing process amongst elementary, middle, and high school students
• Represent the cognitive, linguistic, and motor skills required to engage in various components of the writing process
• Define how children and adolescents with developmental language disorders differ from peers with typical development on a variety of components of the writing process
