Overview:
Ergogenic aids are substances that help your performance by increasing oxygen delivery to muscles, flushing out lactic acid and reducing perceived effort. They can be obtained from supplements but more ideally, from food. This presentation will go over common ergogenic substances utilized in various sports such as nitric oxide enhancing foods, quercetin and beta- alanine to name a few. We will discuss where to obtain these foods and how they enhance performance.

Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
• Identify the effect ergogenic aids have on the body and performance.
• Identify food sources of common ergogenic aids.
• Design a meal plan consisting of foods that will enhance performance.
• Provide recipes and preparation techniques to aid absorption of ergogenic substances.
