DCE-MRI: To Evaluate Perfusion in Spinal Metastases & Tumor Response to Various Treatments is organized by International Center for Postgraduate Medical Education (ICPME) and will be held from Mar 05, 2020 - Mar 31, 2024.
Educational Objective:
To demonstrate DCE-MRI changes before and after radiation or chemotherapy treatment for patients with spinal diseases. In correlation with other imaging and clinical findings. It’s often difficult to fully see treatment response when newly diagnosed.
Outline
Summary: Currently, conventional imaging without DCE is limited in evaluating early treatment success or failure, which impacts patient care. With newer methods to measure perfusion parameters such as blood plasma volume (V p), and time-dependent leakage (K trans) earlier treatment response will lead to better patient results.
Methods: We had consecutive patients with known metastases of the spine who underwent Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced-Magnetic Resonance Imaging DCE-MRI before and after radiotherapy.
Conclusion: DCE-MRI imaging presents a novel alterative to conventional imaging for spinal diseases. When done the audience will understand how perfusion imaging of the spine can help evaluate early diagnosis by understanding and being able to perform this relativity easy technique. The audience will also be introduced to the how blood plasma volume (V p), and time-dependent leakage (K trans) work.
