Physicians, pharmacists, and technologists and any professionals in the nuclear medicine and related fields.

Overview :
As more tracers become clinically available, nuclear medicine technologists need to keep track of the various doses, uptake times, and imaging acquisition techniques. This course reviews key anatomical structures of the brain, describes key parameters used to obtain high quality PET/CT images, and discusses the role of PET imaging in patients with brain abnormalities, including the use of recently approved tau and amyloid imaging agents.

Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
• Determine key anatomical structures on FDG PET and CT images
• Identify the lobes of the brain and their major functions
• Describe key parameters used to obtain high quality FDG PET/CT images
• Discuss the role of PET imaging in patients with brain abnormalities
