Course Description:
This program will identify the unique regulatory oversight for renal dialysis facilities. Speakers will address the key components and the “why” around Medicare regulations. Each presentation will focus on the role of each member of the interdisciplinary team in the survey process and present tactical advice for your own surveys. The session will also discuss the impact the pandemic has had on disaster planning and focus on the unique challenges that continue as a result.
Learning Objectives:
• Explain the rationale why surveys of dialysis facilities are undertaken
• Allocate specific roles of the members of the interdisciplinary team in promoting compliance of CMS and state regulations affecting dialysis facilities
• List 2 examples of natural disasters that can disrupt dialysis facility operation
