
Case Studies in HIV and Aging


Case Studies in HIV and Aging discusses HIV infection within the geriatric population utilizing a case-based approach to emphasize pertinent and necessary clinical points such as HIV in the younger versus older patient, the effects of multimorbidity, polypharmacy and frailty on geriatric population living with HIV and most importantly a clinical approach when dealing with common cardiac, systemic and metabolic disorders within this population.
Educational Objectives:
• Compare and contrast HIV infection in younger and older patients
• Discuss geriatric concepts of multimorbidity, polypharmacy and frailty and how they relate to older patients living with HIV
• Describe an approach to caring for older PWH with cardiac, renal or metabolic bone disease
