Building Nutrigenomics Knowledge and Confidence for Clinical Practice Integration

Building Nutrigenomics Knowledge and Confidence for Clinical Practice Integration is organized by Dietitian Central.
Live Event Date: Mar 11, 2021
Expiration Date: Mar 11, 2024
Overview:
In the first nutrigenomics webinar we reviewed the foundational principles of nutrigenomics. In this webinar we explore the history of nutrigenomic testing as well as the successes and failures of the nutrigenomic industry, identifying problems that exist for both the patient and practitioner. We start addressing the clinical translation and implementation of nutrigenomics, focusing on user experience and translation for the customer, and education, mentorship and community for the practitioner. We finish off with a Genes 1st and 6 step framework that you can use in your practice, and explore these frameworks with real life case studies.
PART 1: Evaluating the Nutrigenomics market place
• What did the last two decades deliver?
• The MTHFR bump in the road
• SNPs vs pathways
• SNP-based treatments
PART 2: Translational Nutrigenomics Frameworks and Case Studies
• Genes 1st
• Know where to start
• 6 step approach for clinical integration
• Framework for recommendations
• Case studies
Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
• Understand the tests being offered by the genetic testing market place.
• Identify areas in which we have failed and succeeded with nutrigenomics.
• Identify the solutions that can improve the industry, as well as the value of nutrigenomics to the patient and practitioner.
• Identify how education, mentorship and community can enable practitioners to become expert nutrigenomics practitioners.
• Become familiar with frameworks for integrating nutrigenomics into clinical practice.
