Each year residency programs open their doors to a new class of resident physicians. The steps a program takes to welcome these recent medical school graduates can be as important as the educational programming itself. Designing an onboarding process that helps prepare new residents to become effective members of your residency program team can be challenging, and the COVID pandemic has added to these challenges. Join us for a conversation with medical education and residency program directors as they discuss the onboarding process for new residents at their institutions. The conversation will include insights into how programs attempt to streamline administrative processes, as well as how they help introduce incoming residents to the “culture” of their institution.
