Description:
This course provides an overview of vaccinations in children and adults and addresses some of the controversies surrounding vaccinations. It is appropriate not only for healthcare workers and social service professionals, but also for patients, parents, and members of the public interested in learning more about this issue. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: describe how vaccines provide protection from diseases, analyze concerns about vaccination safety and efficacy in order to offer education to patients or clients, identify vaccination schedules for children, adults, and special populations, and list possible side effects and contraindications associated with vaccinations.
