EMS's role in our communities has stretched beyond the original intent of life-saving prehospital care and transport. With a healthcare system that has grown by leaps and bounds in complexity, and which leaves behind the needs of most Americans, EMS is bridging gaps never anticipated in the design of EMS systems or EMS training. This presentation will discuss how one system is structuring its prehospital care team to increase critical care capabilities.
