Goal:
To update pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on recent advances in the management of diabetic kidney disease (DKD).
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• DESCRIBE the impact of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) on health outcomes in patients with diabetes.
• DISCUSS current recommendations for use of glucose-lowering agents to improve kidney and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with DKD.
• FORMULATE strategies to mitigate treatment risks with SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists in patients with DKD.
• APPLY current recommendations for use of glucose-lowering agents in DKD to a clinical case scenario.
