The prevalence of dentinal hypersensitivity has been reported to be up to 57% and greater in the general population, with a significantly higher prevalence reported for periodontal patients. Further, in clinical practice, patients with hypersensitivity may not complain of this condition. Dentinal hypersensitivity is diagnosed by exclusion. Management of dentinal hypersensitivity can be achieved with home use products and through the use of in-office therapies. This CE webinar will discuss the prevalence and etiology of dentinal hypersensitivity, its management and available in-office and home-use therapies.
