This Blended Ultrasound-Guided Nerve Blocks for Emergency Medicine Applications Training Course is designed for Emergency Medicine Physicians seeking to integrate ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for pain management, or procedural applications into their clinical practice. It is the position of American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) that Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks are a core skill which emergency physicians are capable of providing to patients. Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks are also a required core competency for graduates of EM residency programs according to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The Blended Education format provides flexibility while saving time and minimizing travel costs.
Begin with the self-paced online course: Taught by leading emergency medicine ultrasound experts that specialize in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, the online course incorporates comprehensive, interactive lectures, case presentations, and post-activity quizzes with fifteen (15) months unlimited access.
Then attend the Scanning Skills Workshop: Join us in sunny St. Petersburg, FL for a (1) One Day (6 Hours) scanning skills workshop at our state-of-the-art facility. The extensive hands-on scanning skills workshop features the industry lowest 3:1 participant to faculty ratio with both standardized patient models (anatomy) and inanimate phantoms (interventional techniques), allowing the participant to immediately integrate the skills learned into clinical practice.
For the best ultrasound education experience, completion of the online course prior to hands on scanning is recommended.

• Cite the interaction of sound with soft-tissue and other mediums and recognize commonly seen imaging artifacts.
• State the relationship of transducer frequency to resolution, penetration and attenuation.
