Trauma Informed Care for LGBTQIA+ Patients In this webinar, participants will explore the principles of trauma informed care for LGBTQIA+ patients, including best practices for the implementation of affirming, trauma-informed programming. The webinar will include provider and patient perspectives of the patient journey, focusing on opportunities for trust building and for the recognition and support of patients who have been affected by trauma.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand the disproportionate impact of trauma experienced by Transgender and Genderdiverse (TGD) individuals.
• Analyze how a lived experience of trauma can interfere with the formation of therapeutic relationships between TGD patients and providers.
• Describe how to use a universal trauma-informed approach to enhance engagement of TGD patients in care and promote their health and well-being.
