This course will review the charge nurse's role as it pertains to the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare organization. We will identify key aspects of workplace culture and a healthy work environment, and how these characteristics influence what nurses do, as both caregivers and supervisors. Lastly, we will explore the complexities of the cost of care and the impact that shift-based decisions have on these costs.
Goal and Learning Outcomes:
The goal of this course is to prepare nurses in acute care with skills to assist in transitioning to a charge nurse role.
