The anatomy of the maxilla and the mandible can affect the efficacy of local anesthetics and their ease of delivery. As well, variations in nerve distribution of both the maxillary and mandibular nerves can make local anesthetic success unpredictable.
This CE webinar will discuss both nerve and bone anatomy and how they can change the efficacy and ease of delivery of a local anesthetic. A review of the maxillary nerve, the mandibular nerve, the mandible and the maxilla will be discussed. Certain injection techniques and local anesthetic products will be reviewed in light of this nerve and bone anatomy.
