Overview:
We can all ask ourselves (and our patients, if we are in healthcare) "Am I motivated to achieve what I really want in life?" Wanting to do something and motivating ourselves to actually do it are two different things. So, what's the difference between those who never reach their goals, year after year, and those who achieve one goal after another? It's their self-motivation. This presentation will "edu-tain" you with a review of the key traits, attitudes and practices that guarantee self-motivation, all summarized in the acronym R.E.A.C.H. F.O.R. M.O.R.E. Let the force be with you…meaning, that which. keeps pushing us to keep moving forward to successfully achieve our goals (short and long term).
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
• Name the 4 factors necessary to build our strongest levels of self-motivation.
• Name 3 ways to apply the "power of positive thinking."
• Name 3 ways to improve our self-confidence.
• Name some of the characteristics of smart goals, according to Locke’s goal setting theory.
• Name 9 of the proven ways to get motivated and stay motivated to reach our short and long term goals that are summarized in the words: R.E.A.C.H. F.O.R. M.O.R.E.
