Restoring Stolen Pleasure: Reclaiming Authentic Sexuality After Sexual Trauma is organized by E Care Behavioral Health Institute.

Overview:
In today’s society, female sexuality is often very confusing and misunderstood, and when women are sexually traumatized a whole new level of confusion and shame emerges.  Often sexual trauma survivors make great strides in the physical and emotional healing of their traumas but still struggle for healing in the area of sexuality. Many survivors of sexual trauma have concerns and questions about sexuality and how they can find what they are looking for sexually, and often providers skip this delicate yet important topic in their treatment of sexual trauma.

This interactive webinar will open up the conversation about what authentic sexuality is, what it means for a survivor of sexual assault, how to help their sexually traumatized clients grow and develop in their sexuality, and practical ways that a mental health professional can help facilitate healing in the area of sexuality for a sexual trauma survivor.

Objectives:
• Discuss the concept of authentic sexuality and how it relates to sexual trauma survivors.
• Equip providers with practical ways that they can broach the topic of sexuality with survivors of sexual trauma and practical tools that they can use to help facilitate sexual healing.
• Develop creative and gentle ways to address sexuality issues with sexual trauma survivors.
• Explain the creative techniques for pursuing authentic sexuality.
• Give hands-on techniques and resources for helping survivors to pursue authentic sexuality.
• Discuss sexual assault with special populations.
