This continuing education webinar will discuss the clinical assessment of anterior and posterior previously root canal treated teeth prior to placement of a definitive restoration. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of providing a coronal seal and only restoring teeth with a sound prognosis. Various core materials and post systems will be described along with clinical indications, advantages and disadvantages. The participant should be aware that the definitive restoration is an integral part of successful root canal treatment and fundamentally important in increasing the longevity of the tooth.
