There are special considerations when kids take medications. We’ve gathered some common parent questions about immunizations, asthma, ear infections, and strep throat, and answered them in this course. Learn these practice pearls and put the information to work in your pharmacy.
Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
• Identify standard immunizations recommended by the CDC for pediatric patients
• Discuss the different kinds of medications that a patient with asthma may use
• Describe some of the non-pharmacological needs of patients with asthma
• Explain the differences between otitis media, otitis media with effusion, and otitis externa
• Discuss the importance of non-pharmacological management for patients with “strep throat”
