Nuts and Bolts of New IDEAS Reimbursement is organized by Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

Nuclear medicine physicians, pharmacists, technologists, physicists, and residents/students
Overview :
This session will review the Medicare billing guidance for New IDEAS study, including the basics of the CPT and HCPCS codes as well as national payment rates in the varying patient settings. The basic set up necessary to begin billing New IDEAS studies as well as the patient copayment and cost sharing will also be reviewed. Additionally, how to work with your local Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC) or Medicare Advantage Plans to resolve any denials will be explained.
Objectives :
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
• Discuss the Medicare billing guidance for the study, including the basics of the CPT and HCPCS codes as well as national payment rates in the varying patient settings
• Describe the basic set up necessary to begin billing New IDEAS studies as well as the patient copayment and cost sharing
• Navigate how to work with your local Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC) or Medicare Advantage Plans to resolve any denials
