Goal:
After completing this activity, pharmacy technicians will be able to recognize differences between nonhormonal contraceptive products and their advantages and disadvantages In addition, the various types of emergency contraception will be presented with focus on the differing mechanisms of action, effectiveness, precautions, and factors related to safety.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• RECOGNIZE the advantages and disadvantages of nonhormonal options for preventing pregnancy
• COMPARE the effectiveness of nonhormonal options for preventing pregnancy
• IDENTIFY the mechanisms of action of emergency contraceptive products
• COMPARE the effectiveness of products used for emergency contraception
