Description:
Neurosurgeons shoulder the burden of a high-risk exposure for professional liability claims. Analysis of claims can help neurosurgeons to improve patient safety and reduce liability risk. The cases presented in this monograph will illustrate some of the main issues seen in neurosurgery claims, and the subsequent discussions will offer recommendations to reduce lawsuit risks and to increase patient safety.

• Review critical steps and concerns for a procedure with the surgical team before surgery.
