Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent form of arthritis in the world, affecting more than 30 million people in the U.S. alone (Lozada, 2021). As the most common type of joint disease, it is important healthcare providers are familiar with the signs, symptoms, and clinical practice guidelines for the management of osteoarthritis. This course will review key concepts surrounding the management of osteoarthritis.
Goal and Learning Outcomes:
The goal of this course is to educate nurses in the acute care setting on the management of osteoarthritis.
After taking this course, you should be able to:
• Recall the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis in patients.
• Recall risk factors for developing osteoarthritis and management strategies for its treatment.
