Summary:
How can you prevent what you’ve learned from fading away? How do you deal with the feeling of isolation when you are involved in the disciplinary process? How do you continue the process of remediation that began in the course you took? Participation in our longitudinal, follow-up Maintenance and Accountability Seminar can address all these questions and more. These weekly, faculty-moderated teleconferences deepen participants’ understanding, elevate their accountability through revisiting their Personalized Protection Plans, and engage them in a multi-disciplinary community of peer review and support.
Learning objectives:
• Broaden perspective by incorporating the elements of the Formula© into their professional and personal world view
• More fully discern the impact of violations, such as the betrayal of trust, the abuse of professional power, and other damage done
• Deepen insights into personal vulnerabilities and professional risk factors that predispose to violations
• Prevent complacency and resistance from developing by keeping what was learned in full view
• Sharpen sensitivity to the early warning signs of evolving issues in themself or in a colleague and to develop appropriate action plans to safeguard the patient and the professional
• Modify their Personalized Protection Plan to continue to safeguard themselves and their patients as situations change
• Protect against recidivism caused by professional isolation through the creation of community
Format:
• Prerequisite of completion of prior PBI course, or comparable course through another education provider
• Group teleconference component: Faculty-led group conference calls. One hour weekly for twelve weeks, totaling twelve hours
• Seminars are hosted at the following time:
Cohort 1: Monday 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Pacific Time
Cohort 2: Tuesday 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Pacific Time
Cohort 3: Wednesday 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Pacific Time
Cohort 4: Thursday 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Pacific Time
