Lymphedema Therapy Certification Course is organized by Klose Training & Consulting, LLC and will be held from May 05 - 11, 2023 at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America.,Course Description:,This fascinating and enlightening 135-hour course will provide you with the knowledge and abilities necessary to treat patients suffering from lymphedema utilizing Comprehensive Decongestive Treatment in a safe and effective way (CDT). You will learn Manual Lymph Drainage, also referred to as MLD, along with compression bandaging, skin care, and activities that are ideal for patients. After demonstrating competence throughout the course, you will be eligible for Lymphedema Treatment (CLT) certification. Once you have this certification, you will be able to start working with clients right away.,The didactic program begins with an online Home-Study Module that may be completed at your own pace and from any location as long as you can access the internet. The Module lasts for 75 hours. When you finish this Module, there will be an additional sixty hours of classroom (lab) instruction spread out over six and a half days.,Course Objectives:,Each participant will be trained in the four components of Complete Decongestive Therapy. Upon completion of the class, the therapist will be able to:,• Identify the components of the lymphatic systems and their function,• Identifyother medical conditions that may lead to lymphedema or edema,• Identify the treatment strategies needed for each condition and distinguish between peripheral edemas,• Identify the application, medical indications, and contraindications to Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Treatment (CDT).,• Ffind various compression therapy strategies for patients suffering from chronic venous insufficiency and lymphedema,• Attest to the importance of skincare for patients suffering from lymphedema,• Attest to the importance of exercise protocols for people at risk or with lymphedema,• Identify the risk-reduction strategies for patients at high risk of lymphedema,• Differentiate between a variety of measurement techniques used for the evaluation of edema/lymphedema and custom-made compression clothes,• Identify the most effective lymphedema treatment methods based on the current evidence,• Develop CDT treatment plans to treat primary and secondary lymphedema,• Perform MLD sequences in patients with primary or secondary lymphedema, post-traumatic and surgical edema.,• Competently use short-stretch compression bandaging systems for patients suffering from upper and lower extremity Lymphedema
