Overview:
Oral health is integral to overall health. This program focuses on the interactions between oral and systemic health for various diseases and populations. Educating patients about the importance of their dental health to the rest of their body is a critical part of our role as healthcare providers. The course also outlines the implementation wellness concepts in your practice in a doctor directed, staff-led team approach for improving outcomes for your patients.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:
• Better understand the current scientific evidence for the oral systemic connection
• Develop strategies targeted at particular populations (pregnant patients, patients with diabetes, etc.) to address their unique needs with personalized care
• Identify strategies to best optimize oral and overall health in their patients
