Goal:
This activity will define regulatory and accreditation terminology and identify the process an organization must follow to obtain accreditation. Various accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies in pharmacy will also be explored.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• Define regulatory and accreditation-related terminology
• List the reasons for acquiring accreditation and the categories of standards related to accreditation
• Identify different accrediting agencies and their process for granting accreditation to health care entities
• Distinguish the role of various regulatory bodies in pharmacy
