Introduction to Adult Echocardiography - Online Course is organized by Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute (GCUS) Inc.
Date of Original Release: 10/11/2022
This edition valid for credit through: 10/11/2025
Course Description:
Introduction to Adult Echocardiography Online Course is outlined as a comprehensive program associated with performing and evaluating an adult echocardiography examination based on ASE practice guidelines. This interactive, online course is divided into eighteen (18) modules and along with online video lectures, case presentations, and post-activity quizzes. Enrollment is valid for 12 months (365 days) and begins the moment the participant is enrolled. Elongate your online course access for another 3 months with the addition of an onsite hands-on workshop or registration for a regularly scheduled GCUS scan workshop.
Course Objectives:
• Develop the participant’s knowledge to perform better and/or interpret Echocardiography examinations.
• Illustrate proper transducer manipulation and system optimization to compose diagnostic images (sonographer) and recognize potential imaging errors (Physician).
• Explain routine scan protocols to assess an adult patient using 2D/M-Mode/Color Flow & Doppler echocardiographic techniques.
• Give standard 2D, m-mode, and Doppler measurements.
• Recognize normal/abnormal characteristics of 2D cardiac anatomy.
• Assert the role of cardiac Doppler and list the necessary qualitative/quantitative measurements.
• Know the ultrasound findings connected with valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, ischemic heart disease, pericardial disease, and cardiac masses.
• Note the latest imaging techniques in the identification of right and left ventricle wall motion. Document findings and apply standardized guidelines during the compilation of an Echocardiography worksheet (sonographer) and dictated report (Physician).
• Record the steps necessary for system optimization during contrast echo imaging.
• Boost confidence to incorporate protocols, techniques & interpretation criteria to improve diagnostic/treatment accuracy.
