Computers and mobile devices have become a daily part of life for children and adolescents. The internet is an expedient mode of communication and provides access to a wealth of information, but it can also be detrimental to the well-being of children because of numerous online hazards.
Goal and Learning Outcomes:
The goal of this course is to provide nurses who work with children, adolescents, and their families in various settings with information about how to support children’s safety on the internet.
After taking this course, you should be able to:
• Identify at least three internet safety guidelines and resources for parents and children.
• Describe the nurse’s role in identifying children at risk for exploitation while online.
