Implantology is one of the most popular and fastest growing disciplines in dentistry. More clinicians want to incorporate the skill of placing dental implants in their office to simplify treatment for their patients. This first in the series of hands-on workshops designed by Spear Education is designed for dentists who are new to dental implant placement.
This course will focus on basic surgical and implant therapy leading to the mastery of the single tooth implant. This workshop will provide dentists with a foundation in the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose, plan, and place dental implants safely and effectively in their own office.

• The influence of medical issue such as diabetes, periodontal disease, smoking, and mediations and their influence on implant integration
• Surgical basics including armamentarium needed for successful implant placement
• The use of CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) in dental implant treatment planning
• Indications and contraindications for dental implants
• Basic implant surgical protocol
• Implant selection and placement
• Prosthesis design and fabrication
• Postoperative care
• Staff training
• The economic impact of dental implants to a dental office
• Practice management of how to schedule/market implants
