Course opens: 10/01/2021
Course expires: 09/30/2024
Description :
The Evidence-Based Clinical Care initiatives provide the structure and guidance for Baptist Health South Florida in the design, adoption, and implementation of relevant and up-to-date synthesized, research-based clinical pathways and protocols that can be measured in real-time across the entire patient episode of care, in order to eliminate clinical variation, improve patient safety and reduce cost. Clinical pathways are continually updated and adjusted. • Recognize signs and symptoms of delirium in hospitalized patients.
• Identify patients at risk for developing delirium and implement prevention techniques to mitigate risk during their inpatient care.
• Adopt an interdisciplinary approach to the management of delirium in hospitalized patients.
• Implement the CAM assessment tool.
• Utilize the electronic medical record to adhere to evidence-based clinical care order sets related to delirium in medical/surgical and critical care settings.
• Explain the evidence-based data supporting pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to manage patients with delirium in both inpatient and critical care settings
