Due to its rarity, heterogeneity, and overlapping symptoms with other neurological conditions, recognizing and diagnosing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) can be challenging. Additionally, cognitive impairment in ALS, while not as well-known as its motor symptoms, is a significant aspect of the disease and drastically impacts patients' and their caregivers' quality of life. Unfortunately, due to a lack of awareness and the primary focus on motor dysfunction, cognitive impairment is often overlooked in ALS.
