Greater than or equal to 92% of participants will be able to recognize life-threatening ECG rhythms and understand the importance of ECG monitoring.
Objectives:
After this course, the participant will be able to:
- Describe normal cardiac anatomy and normal electrical conduction through the heart.
- Identify and relate ECG waveforms to the cardiac cycle.
- Characterize the different lead placements and the purpose of each lead placement.
- Utilize a systematic process when approaching the interpretation of the ECG.
- Differentiate normal and abnormal components on ECG.
- Recognize sinus, atrial, junctional, and ventricular dysrhythmia on ECG and relate cause, significance, and symptoms.
- Identify three pacemaker malfunctions.
